Léander Amirault’s first garage

Rudolph Amirault built a garage for repairing bicylces, in the northern part of the photo. In 1926, with his brother Léander’s help, he added the southern section to the garage, to repair automobiles.

The garage was demolished in 1947 to make way for a second garage, which made use of new construction materials. It was built by Léander’s son, Sylvester.

The man standing at the door in the photo may be Léander, and it may be his McLaughlin-Buick parked in front of the garage.
