Surveying for new iron bridge

There has been a bridge over the LaHave River joining both sides of Bridgewater since around 1825. The 1869 bridge is about to be replaced and Mr. R.M.J. McGill (right) and Mr. Tross (left) are shown surveying for a new bridge. In 1891 a 300-foot-long Warren girder deck bridge was built by the Dominion Bridge Company at a cost of $23,342.
