DesBrisay Museum, Bridgewater

Water rights for the Wile’s stream were held by the Waterman Tannery and the Wile Carding Mill. James E. Waterman (1820-1894) drew up an agreement whereby Dean Wile was granted the privilege of having enough water from the Whitman’s pond above the tannery to keep Wile’s carding machines in motion. No other mills or machines were included whatsoever.
