The Boston Marine Hall was home to many performances of both local and visiting artists. Probably one of the Hall’s most notable performers, even though he wasn’t nearly as well-known at the time, was the World famous magician Harry Houdini. In a bid to promote his appearances at the Hall, Houdini went down to the local hardware store and performed one of his first escape acts, getting his hands freed from a pair of handcuffs. The Hall helped provide a space for the many talent of Yarmouth and gave residents a chance to hear and see what the rest of the World had to offer.
