Musée Église Sainte-Marie Museum, Church Point

Église Sainte-Marie nearing completion

A photo taken in 1905 looking south. In this photo it is easy to perceive the scale of the structure by comparing it to the house which is directly across the road. The church was blessed on August 30th, 1905 by his Excellence Mgr. Sbarretti, Apostolical Delegate for Canada, accompanied by several church dignitaries from across the Atlantic Provinces. A large number of people from the area and surrounding parishes were also present, so many, in fact, that they occupied the whole church yard, the roadway and the lawn in front of the College next door.

Date: 1905
