There are three large bells having a combined weight of 8228 kg (3740 lbs) hanging in the belfry about 100 feet from the ground. On the afternoon of August 14th, 1904, the bells were blessed and given names in a ceremony attended by people from all parishes along the bay. This one is named Agnes-Angelina. After the ceremony the bells were hoisted up and hung in place thanks to a complicated arrangement of ropes and pulleys designed by Leo Melanson. That same afternoon they were rung for the first time and were said to be heard from one end to the other of the French Shore.
