Girl Guides of Nova Scotia

Carter Area (Bedford/Sackville) started an event more than 20 years ago that focused on camping and outdoor skills for Pathfinders in that area. Each year teams of four participate in this weekend of activities related to all aspects of camping and outdoor recreation. Quest is now a provincial event held each autumn. The photos shown here reflect just three of many stations the teams complete as part of the competition: pitching tents, reading maps and building fires. To make the station more fun and challenging, participants at this particular tent pitching challenge had to do so blindfolded while one person was allowed to see the proceedings and provide verbal instructions.
