Lucy Jarvis

Lucy Jarvis was not originally from Yarmouth, but came with her parents in 1904. Although she was just a young girl at the time of her family moving here, Lucy already had a penchant for the arts. She started taking art lessons from local women and grew her talents. She would go on to study in Toronto at the formal Havergal Ladies College and would eventually go on to display her art in galleries all over Canada and beyond. Later in life, Lucy returned to her beloved Yarmouth and settled in Pembroke Dyke, Yarmouth County, where she continued to paint, and played a very active role in the Yarmouth arts community. Lucy made Yarmouth just a little more beautiful and colorful through her art.
