Bowman B. Law was born in Massachusetts but came to Yarmouth at a very young age. He later became a very successful merchant, was in a co-partnership with his father at a grocery store called B.B. Law & Co. and in 1902 was first elected Canadian House of Commons for Yarmouth, he was additionally elected in 1904, 1908 and 1911. Sadly, he died in a fire at the Parliament building in Ottawa on February 3, 1916. Mr. Bowman was a one of the most beloved representative for Yarmouth.
