This image shows the bankhead and colliery buildings of the Inverness Railway and Coal Company at Inverness (formerly Broad Cove). William MacKenzie and Donald Mann developed the railroad first followed by the coal mines. Approximately fourteen cars of coal per day were shipped from Inverness to shipping piers at Port Hastings.
