Petition by John Elexey and other Mi'kmaq on behalf of themselves and twenty other Mi'kmaq families, asking a grant of land on which they have settled at Pubnico, twennty miles back from salt water. They have built a house, several huts and raised a hundred bushels of potatoes, Indian corn and garden stuff.

Regarding the land of the Frasers at Middle River, Pictou. "Their neighbours were Indians."

The new road now opening between Annapolis and Liverpool will pass through their hunting grounds and the result will be, in a short time, the Mi'kmaq will lose their means of subsistance. They ask for a portion of land they propose to cultivate. Recommended by Abbe' Sigogne and Commissioners. Approved for Charles, John and Francis Gloade and Malti Paul in 1823. Regarding a licence of occupation for Peter Tom, a Mi'kmaq man, for 200 acres in the Township of Clare.

Petition for Hennery for a lot at Tracadie between lands laid off for the Mi'kmaq and the settlement on the east side of Manchester Road.

Petition by Hutt for land in lieu of lands at Chester relinquished for the Mi'kmaq.

Petition of eighteen Mi'kmaq families of Pomquet for 100 acres of Indian Point Cove where they have had gardens for 25 years. If they receive this, they will give up claims to the reserve in the woods that has been taken from them by white settlers and on which they have lived for the past 25 years. A separate slip of paper has a list of 10 names. Presented in the administration of James Kempt. Filed in 1822.

Documents regarding a grant given to McDiarmid in 1811 that, at the time, had two acres reserved as a Mi'kmaq burial ground. There was an error in the grant and the reservation was found to occupy the most valuable part of the land; the part occupied by Acecus Rude's buildings.

Documents regarding land given to Scottish immigrant Peter McChesney in Pomquet in 1810. The land surveyed for him in 1820 was found to encroach on the Mi'kmaq reserve.
