     Then the Honourable President put the Question Whether it would not also be an Encouragement for the Settlement of this Town, That none but such as Settled and Inhabited here Should go and Trade with their Vessels up the Bay

     Carried in the Affirmative
The Mer - chants are allowed to go up in order to get in their debts

     Then the Governor Acquainted the Board that the Merch.ts from Boston had Informed him that they had a great many outstaning Debts and that they would Certainly Lose the Same, if that they were Debarred the priviledge of going up this Time, And thereupon Asking the Advice and Oppinion of the Board

     Agreed that they should be permitted this time in order to gett in their said Debts and that they be Acquainted with the aforegoing Votes of the Council The [140] The Honourable L.t Governor Also Acquainted the Board that Piere Commau was come to know the Determination of the Board about his Petition Laid before the Board the 29th of Apr. Last in Relation to a Dispute between him and M.r Richards

     The Said Richards not being Present Agreed that the Same be Referred till to Morrow At 3 of the Clock in the Afternoon, And that M.r Shirreff do Send An Order as Secretary for his Appearance.

     At a Council held at the Honourable L.t Governour John Doucetts house on Wednesday the 7th of July 1725

Pere Commau's petition answered

     Being mett according to Yesterdays Agreement The Honouralib1e L.t Governor Acquainted the Board That Richards was come to make Answer to Commaus Petition in Relation to the Ground in Dispute as aforesaid, and he and Commeau being both Called And their Alligations heard.
