     At a Council held at the Honourable L.t Governor Cosbys House by order of his Excelly Gov.r Richd Philipps in His Majestys Garrison of Annapolis Royall this 19th Day of July at 4 o' the Clock P. M. 1731.

The President acquainted the Board that his Excelly had Sent him a Letter by Mr Philipps who acted as secretary which was Directed from the Secretary at War to the Commander in Chief of the Province Appointing Mr Willm Shirreff to Act in y.t Office in the Absence of Captain Philipps which he Order'd to be Read, And Mr Shirreff produced a Letter from the Secretary at War to the same Purport which was also Order'd to be Read and both of them Were Orderd to be Registred Upon Which Mr Shirreff took the Usuall Oaths Appointed for y.t Purpose Adjourned
